Ron Nichols started blacksmithing in the early 1990s. He focuses on traditional joinery work and 14th-century chasing and repoussé. He is a member of numerous blacksmith organizations and is President of the Rutherford County Blacksmith Association (NC) where he teaches weekly "green coal" classes. Ron's passion is teaching beginning blacksmithing and passing on the craft. He has led classes, workshops, or demonstrations at John C. Campbell Folk School (Murphy NC), New York State Designer Blacksmiths (Corning NY), Artist Blacksmith Association of North America (various conferences), Prairie Blacksmith Association (Nebraska), a Snap-On Tools Convention at Gaylord Opryland (Nashville TN), his personal forge in Brentwood, TN, and numerous other forges across Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.
