Uncover the techniques of painting by subtraction, including lifting paint to create highlights, layering for shadows, and creating the chiaroscuro effect. Each application follows the dry stage of the painting process and, unlike traditional watercolor, this method uses minimal underpainting and is designed for control. Class will also explore some basic drawing and value scale principles. Beginners welcome.
