Student Materials: The instructor will provide a kit (see cost below) that includes: - Art Clay Silver (ACS) - 50g - ACS Paste - ACS Syringe with tips - 5 g - Use of her metal clay tools and equipment in class Some enamels may contain small amounts of hazardous materials. It is recommended to use a particle dust mask (3M #8233 or rated equivalent). They will be available for sale at $9, or you bring your own if you wish. Any classes requiring etchants, or fuels (MAPP gas, fuels acetylene) will be charged a fee for the amount used. OPTIONAL TOOLS: The student may find it helpful to bring the following: - Several very small, fine paint brushes (flat and round tips). - Magnifying glasses or visor Note: Art Clay Silver has the ACMI Seal, certifying it as non-toxic and safe to use without health risk. FOLK SCHOOL FEE: Estimated at $25 for enamels INSTRUCTOR MATERIALS COST $225-$275 Cost subject to change based on metal clay pricing at time of class

Achieve gorgeous, crystal-clear results with enamels on silver clay. Silver clay is a wonderful, user-friendly medium. Powdered silver is mixed with organic binders allowing you to work and shape it like clay. When fired, the binders burn away leaving pure fine silver. Discover how to achieve beautiful color and shading enameling on this versatile surface. All levels welcome. Note: materials fee may exceed $100.

Pam East has been an enamelist since 1997, and is a certified master instructor with Art Clay® Silver. She has been an invited speaker at the Biennial Enamelist Conference and the Metal Clay World Conference. Pam has appeared on the Carol Duvall Show on HGTV and DIY Jewelry Making on the DIY Network. She is author of the book Enameling on Metal Clay and her articles have appeared in Art Jewelry magazine and other publications. She loves to teach and finds it the most rewarding aspect of her career.
