Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Sewing machine with power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, presser feet, etc. - Rotary cutter with extra blades - Cutting mat - Small spray bottle - Fabric (see information to be emailed by instructor) - Thread - Sewing supplies (pins, seam ripper, scissors, etc.) - Sketchbook NOTE: Instructor will email a complete materials list with more detail to enrolled students before class.

School Fee & Materials: Each student will need a design wall for their project. It would be ideal if each student had an iron or that there are ample irons in the classroom. Instructor will need HDMI connection for an iPad for digital presentation; video camera for in-class demonstrations; and a flip chart and markers in classroom.

Equipment Needs: TV and phone set up Easel and paper flip chart Tables with design wall access

Veronica Hofman-Ortega follows the philosophy, “Why use five fabrics when you can use fifty?!” She especially enjoys using hand stitching and free-motion quilting to bring a third dimension to two-dimensional quilt tops. As an instructor, Veronica builds on a strong foundation of basics and encourages her students to “stitch to their own tune.” Veronica has won awards in national competitions for her quilts and wearables. Her work has appeared in publications including Making Faces in Fabric, The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters, Belle Armoire magazine, and Creative Quilting with Beads.
