Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Magnifying glasses, if needed. Safety glasses if you are nearsighted and can see up close) - Any materials that you propose to work with - ANY (we can always rule them out!) - Sharpie marker (fine) - X-Acto or craft knife - Dust mask, safety glasses (yes this is a redundant listing!), and ear plugs for shop safety - Closed-toe shoes are to be worn in the studio -- no sandals. - Some practice with basic Woodworking tools prior to class is helpful.

School Fee & Materials: MATERIALS - Glue (Titebond III) - Safety glasses and dust masks for students who don't bring

Instructor Materials: veneers - solid wood stock - bone, shell, metal, etc. to inlay - tools - humor

Equipment Needs: Woodworking Studio If 8 students, need: - 3 scroll saws Plus: - Band saw - Stationary sander - Drill presses

T Breeze VerDant is currently a post doc fellow at the University of Hard Knocks. He is a great believer in experiential learning, being one who was kind of unteachable as a kid. This translates into a teaching style that encourages the student to ask questions, participate and help him teach his classes. His first wooden object that he built was a log cabin, then a house that he logged, did the bulldozing, stone foundation, power lines, windows, wiring, plumbing. It was a tedious process that ended with him slowly awakening to the fact that "artist" was a term that had a natural fit. His work has been featured in 9 books and he has had and still maintains galleries all over the country. He is a songwriter who actively performs and performs actively.
