Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Bring 5-10 photos of things you’d like to paint (landscapes, still life's, flowers, trees, etc.) No photos of family, friends, people, please. Consider painting single objects or landscapes; these are usually more successful paintings for beginners. I have many reference photos that you can use to paint from if you need them. We will be painting on 5"x7" paper, so try to size your photos to 5x7 size, but don't worry if you cannot. It’s best if you print your photos on regular printer paper rather than on thick photo paper. - Pad of tracing paper (9 x 12 is fine or whatever you have) - Masking tape (½” to ~1” wide) 1 roll - Paper towels. 1 roll (Optional): - Any tube watercolors you may have. I provide all the paints you will need. But if you want to bring some of your own in addition to those provided, professional-grade are preferred. - Bring any brushes you may have. Your supplies set will have brushes and the school has a nice set of many brush sizes and types in the studio that you can borrow if you want to try them. - If you have any watercolor paper, bring it; but there is no need to buy additional paper. I will have professional-grade 140-lb. cold press Arches watercolor paper that will be included in your supplies fee. I’ll also bring sheets (22” x 30”) of 140-lb Arches watercolor paper for you to purchase if you wish to work larger (~$5 for ½ sheet). - Digital camera/iPhone/iPad. - Apron or large t-shirt to cover your clothes if you wish - Cushion for your back or seat
