However, you are encouraged to bring your own high-quality, well-fitting ear and eye protection. The Folk School Craft Shop also sells high-quality safety glasses.

Lance Ellis has been forging since his first blacksmithing class at the Folk School in 2015. He has continued his practice as a student in several blacksmithing classes and as an assistant instructor for forging and chasing classes at the Folk School. Lance is a member of the Artist Blacksmithing Association of North America (ABANA) and the Appalachian Area Chapter of Blacksmiths (AACB).

Kurt Krieger added blacksmithing to his many other interests around 2015 finding many areas of crossover tied to both his professional and hobby crafting skills. After taking multiple classes at the Folk School, he has had the opportunity to assistant instruct several times. Kurt works as a craftsman and teacher when not exploring his hobbies.
