Description

Gain an introduction to weaving on a floor loom with an emphasis on the best practices that lead to good results. Begin with learning about project drafts and benefit from lessons on twill variations in threading, tie-up, and treadling. Learn how to wind a warp, dress a loom, and throw a shuttle with technique and ergonomics in mind. Start with a twill gamp sampler in wool, then use it to design and weave an individual project. A perfect class for new weavers and those wanting a refresher.

Bettie Zakon-Anderson first fell in love with weaving while taking classes at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1983-85. She is a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen and a technical editor for Handwoven and Little Looms magazines. Bettie is the weaving specialist at Harrisville Designs where she especially enjoys helping weavers gain confidence while growing their weaving skills.
