John Zeigler has forty years of experience working with metal. In his blacksmith shop, he specializes in functional art pieces. He has taken blacksmithing classes at the Folk School since 2005, and has been an assistant instructor since 2013. John is a member of the Alex Bealer Blacksmith Association and Appalachian Area Chapter of Blacksmiths, and he has demonstrated for both organizations. To promote interest in blacksmithing, he also demonstrates at several arts and crafts festivals each year.

Lance Zeigler is an artist blacksmith hammering out a living in the mountains of North Georgia. His work has been showcased in parks, galleries, and art exhibitions, as well as the book Horses Need Not Apply by Vincent Novacs, and various media publications. While Lance spends most of his time immersed in his shop or garden, for more than a decade, he has also taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School passing on his craft. His work can be seen on his website www.burntwhiskerforge.com, on Instagram, and on Facebook.
