Student Materials: Please bring the following: - 35mm digital camera - should be able to use manual settings to control F-stop (aperture) and shutter speed - Instruction manual for camera - Extra memory cards - Backup battery - Small writing pad and pen - Your laptop, if you have one -- and don't forget the accessories. (Please note that this is not a Photoshop class; the laptop will be used only to view your photographs taken during class time.) - Comfortable clothing, shoes, hat, and outdoor gear to suit the season (including rain gear). Also bring anything else you need for field trips (medicine, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc.) (Optional): - Telephoto lens (recommended) - Macro or close-up lens (recommended) - Tripod, if you have one - Binoculars Feel free to contact the instructor if you have any questions. Contact information can be found at the top of your invoice/confirmation. If trips are taken to state parks, this will require an entrance fee, and some other sites may require a parking fee.
School Fee & Materials: - Vehicle & lunches/beverages for field trips (bagged lunch likely only needed for 1 longer day/field trip) PROG OPS - Let Dining Hall know in advance

Capture the beauty of winter’s scenery, from landscapes and patterns in nature to the striking detail of plants without foliage or perhaps highlighted by frost. Expect a mixture of classroom time and field trips. Bring a 35mm digital camera; should have the ability to use manual settings to control aperture and shutter speed.

Liz Domingue is a professional naturalist, educator, nature photographer, writer, and guide with extensive experience hiking, backpacking, photographing, and studying nature. Her interest in and study of the natural world has been a lifelong pursuit and passion. As the originator and operator of the organization Just Get Outdoors, she has led guided interpretive day hikes, Naturalist Adventure Tours, photography workshops, and environmental education programs for youth, adults, and fellow educators for over 20 years. Liz encourages awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and stewardship of our natural world.
