Alan Leland shares his woodturning knowledge through proven proficiency-building exercises in classes at the Folk School and The Crafts Center at North Carolina State University. He also conducts workshops with chapters of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) and in his own studio in Durham, NC. Alan has been a demonstrator at state and national symposiums, and is actively involved in several woodturning clubs, having served many years as vice president of the North Carolina Woodturners Guild. He collects and works with many different woods.

Annie Ogg is an artisan in the International Guild of Miniature Artisans. She is a woodturner specializing in miniatures; specifically 18th and 19th century replicas in a scale of one inch to one foot. She has researched wood types and finishes in an attempt to get as close to the original object as possible and only in miniature. Her work can be found in the following galleries in North Carolina: Nest Gallery in Black Mountain, Re.Imagine Gallery in Fairview, and in the gift shop at the Asheville Botanical Gardens. She teaches woodturning at UNC Asheville in SkillSet, a community outreach program that began in 2018 as a shop class for girls and now expands its reach to all members of the community. She served six years on the board of the Carolina Mountain Woodturners, two as vice president and two as president, the first woman to hold the position.
