Come learn how to forge the various types of trade tomahawks used in the Southeast during the 18^th century and about their historical context. Intermediate to advanced levels welcome; basic forging skills are required. Come ready to work!

When Ryan Johnson was twelve years old he decided to take up blacksmithing so he could make his own tomahawks. Now fourty years later he's still trying to make that perfect hawk. Ryan has been a student at the Folk School many times as well as an instructor. He loves the history of the Southeastern United States, especially its ancient roots. He's founder of RMJ USA, a company that makes knives and tomahawks and works daily in his personal shop Gold Point Forge with his daughters crafting their unique takes on ancient weapons.
