Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, including long pants and tall socks - Dress for the possibility of a cool and hot day, and always a chance to be caught outside in the rain. - Sunglasses - Sunscreen & insect repellent - Hat with brim - Any specific medications you may require (allergy meds, bee sting kit, etc.). We will have a basic first aid kit. - A knife or scissors to cut the dirt off your mushrooms - A basket to collect your finds - Water bottle

School Fee & Materials: FOLK SCHOOL FEE: $15 (for Folk School logs) - Open House or suitable class and workshop space - Need Tables Covered with Paper -Same. There are mushroom inoculator tools and right angle drill in closet, Need better set up for inoculation including good extension cords, wax melting pot. - best trails for mushroom walks and collections

Instructor Materials: Instructor fee: $25 A guided wild mushrooming walk with detailed explanation of proper ID of specimens found, how to narrow search of future finds as well as uses of said specimens as well as presentation on video with lecture, tutorials and workshop. All materials to make s

Equipment Needs: Lower Keith, with Open House available if possible. Need access to mushroom hunting areas, especially rich area which mushroom diversity and accessibility is between the campground and the Cottage. There are cut logs for inoculation provided by a contact via Susannah/JCCFS needs reimbursement. We can create an improved set up for log inoculation in 2025 at a good height with appropriate tool set up. Maybe we need to send out a message to students ahead of time to order the logs they want to pay for to inoculate and take home and maybe plan to do some fresh logs for the Folk School mushroom yard. TV and HDMI cable available for power point presentation – I will bring my laptop - Kitchen with oven and stove, utensils, dishes, and cookware (several cast iron pans if possible) to make frittata and food - mushroom logs

Olga Katic is a mushroom cultivator, wild mushroom and plant hobbyist, and CEO of Mushroom Mountain in South Carolina est. 2007. Her degree is in web design and marketing, but she spends many many hours in the woods exploring the natural world. She loves teaching people about everything mushrooms, and loves seeing them continue on their own mushroom journey.
