Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Students may bring any watercolor supplies of their own that they want to use, but everything will be provided by the instructor.

Instructor Materials: • Highest quality watercolor paper • Mats for “framing” each painting • Watercolor paints • A palette for the watercolors • Brushes • Other supplies: masking tape, drinking straw, salt, saran wrap, masking fluid, etc. • A work book outlining the different painting exercises and providing some descriptive background

Joe Synan has been a painting student at the Studio School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX for 12 years. He has completed 16 painting classes at the Folk School, as well as classes at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado and Truro Center for the Arts on Cape Cod. Joe has been a volunteer instructor in painting for The Art Project, Houston, which enables homeless persons to create and sell their paintings. In addition, he has created and led painting classes for women's recovery centers in Houston. He has been selected to show his art in a number of art shows, including the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival and at the Folk School's Fall Festival. Joe led popular remote painting courses for the Folk School during the school's pandemic shutdown.
