Any classes requiring etchants or fuels, such as MAPP gas or acetylene, will be charged a fee for the amount used.
School Fee & Materials: FOLK SCHOOL FEE: $40-$60 Enamel painting supplements (e.g. mason stains, watercolor enamels, mica.) are already in stock in the Folk school’s Enamel Studio. No additional materials are required.
Instructor Materials: overglaze paints
Equipment Needs: Three big plastic bins from glass storage, plus stackable, individual kits of torch connections (1/student, plus instructor) - Folding stools (from storage building) - Sheet metal for tables (in studio now)

Explore various ways to achieve monochrome and multicolor designs using powdered and other enamels. Practice rendering, drawing, making marks, and adding details on enameled copper. Discover useful applications for color theory and practice mixing colors. Execute geometric and organic designs inspired by patterned fabric, photographs, and paintings and bring them to life using watercolor enamels, underglaze pencils, overglaze paints, pen and ink, and more. All levels welcome.

PLEASE NOTE: This class is for 12-17 year olds to attend with a parent, grandparent, or guardian -- 1 youth per 1 adult. To register, you MUST purchase adult and youth spots as a pair, one youth per one adult: $670 (adult), $330 (youth), $1,000 (combined).

Mi-Sook Hur is an award-winning enamelist and metalsmith who is a professor in the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University. Her work focuses on realistic images inspired by nature, and she explores the modern studies of Limoges enamels. Her work is included in the collections of the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (Little Rock, AR); Enamel Arts Foundations (Los Angeles, CA); Crocker Art Museum, (Sacramento, CA); John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, WI); Philadelphia Museum of Art (Philadelphia, PA); Racine Art Museum (Racine, WI); Kamm Teapot Foundation (CA); and Yale University Art Gallery (New Haven, CT).
