Mea Kleinschrodt has been working in clay part-time for 35 years, along with working as an Occupational Therapist with pediatrics in the school system, and raising a family. Mea began her clay journey in my senior year in high school and progressed to college classes at a local Community College, attending many workshops and week-long classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School. The process of working with clay has provided her with a creative outlet for self-expression. Mea is always trying new pottery techniques and enjoys collaborating with other potters as they create together. Lately, Mea has been assisting other career potters with helping to teach workshops in hand building, throwing on the potter's wheel, and alternative firing techniques like RAKU and Pit firing. Mea is active in her local pottery guild, the Carolina Clay Matters in Charlotte, NC, where she has worked on collaborative projects for public and private art viewing.
