Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Fiddle and bow in playable condition - Other fiddling supplies, such as rosin & extra strings - Music stand (optional - there are some in the studio, but it's nice to have a portable one when playing in alternate or outdoor locations) - A recording device or app on a phone - Water bottle and coffee mug - Note: This class will be taught primarily by ear; some musical tablature will be available. - Students should be comfortable with their instrument and able to play ten or more tunes, in basic major and minor keys, well at or near tempo.
Equipment Needs: The music studio is standard equipped with wifi, smart tv, 2 white boards, post-it flip chart, markers, luthier tools/instrument repair center, spare tuners/picks, dvd player, library of song and music books, bluetooth speaker, printer/copier, fully adjustable padded musician's chairs without arms, seat cushions, stools, tables, etc.

Drawing from Celtic and French Quebecois musical roots, get help fine-tuning your playing techniques and polish your skills. Topics covered include playing jigs, reels, and waltzes, with both finger and bow ornamentations and improv techniques. Class will be taught primarily by ear. Intermediate to advanced levels welcome; students should be comfortable with their instrument and able to play ten or more tunes, in basic major and minor keys, well at or near tempo.
