Student Materials: Please bring the following: -Project description must be submitted to class coordinator in advance to determine suitability within studio space. Ida Palmer-Ball / [email protected]. -Each Open Studio participant will need to bring their own tools and materials for the approved project(s). Please label personal tools with your name or initials.
School Fee & Materials: Table at student exhibit -- don't forget to include them.
Instructor Materials: Every Basketeer is on their own. Will provide directions to Walmart or flea market if student needs something extra mid-week. There is much collaboration during the week!
Equipment Needs: Table at student exhibit -- don't forget to include them. Plans for Wet Room (BUT doesn't work for 2025, already a class in wetroom). (They like to have access to Dance Musicians.) - 8-10 tables - one table per student - At least 10 chairs - They may request a rolling chair or two and task lights. (Hosts - check on Sunday night. If rolling chairs are needed, borrow older ones not being used in Quilting, or former office chairs now in various studios.) - Sinks - Electrical outlets - Iron and ironing board - Clothesline - Possible access to washer & dryer for felting - Igloo cooler for ice, if not already in studio

This self-directed gathering–formerly called "Basketeers"–welcomes practicing artists/craftspeople working in various media. Students must bring their own equipment and supplies with no instruction provided, but are certain to gain insight and inspiration from the projects of others in a supportive and engaging atmosphere. Humor, positive energy, and an adventuresome spirit are welcomed! Potential students are requested to contact Ida before registering to assess suitability of projects.

Ida Palmer-Ball is a retired elementary school teacher who has enjoyed many kinds of handiwork since her youth. As one of the original Folk School "Basketeers," she will discuss potential projects with interested students to determine suitability for the class.
