Student Materials: Please bring the following: -Any tools that students prefer to use they are welcome to bring, but a selection of basic tools will be provided. -Feel free to bring any sticks that need to have brooms put on them, but wood shaping and finishing will not be discussed at length, make sure they are ready to use.
Instructor Materials: We will be using a variety of materials, dyed and undyed, so I will include 10 pounds of whatever the students want for $125 each. This will also include the cost of any string or wire we use (with some exceptions – i.e. waxed linen) Anything beyond these 10 pounds will be sold at retail cost from me directly.
Equipment Needs: · Foot treadles (I can/will bring some for special applications) · Basic tool boxes for each student (scissors, some kind of knife) · needle nose pliers, wire cutters (two or 3 pairs would be great but I can also bring my own), basket shears · Drawing paper, pencils

Hunter L. V. Elliott received a BFA in Sculpture and Printmaking from Kent State University in 2014, and has since produce multiple bodies of work in various disciplines and media. His work alternates between the making of functional and nonfunctional objects, exploring the meaning and value of utility and the importance of materiality. Hunter currently teaches broom making and other craft techniques at Berea College Student Craft in Berea, KY where he serves as the Director of Fellowships.
