Felted Forest Creatures

Love animals and want to learn needle felting? Spend a week sculpting animals from wool using barbed needles. Learn techniques that will allow you to express your own style while creating realistic or whimsical critters, both with and without armatures. Jodie Graham was raised on a small farm in Iron Station, NC, and learned the value of the plants and animals around her through her parents. Influenced primarily by her mother, she became an educator and crafter, but 20 years ago her sister introduced her to needle felting, and this has become her favorite craft. Jodie is self-taught, but took a class at the Folk School to refine and develop her sculpting skills. Since then, she has completed many felted pieces, taught one-on-one classes, and placed second (2019) and third (2021) in the SAFF 3-Dimensional Needle Felting competitions. Jodie currently lives in Mount Holly, NC with her husband and rescue sheprador and enjoys her retirement by crafting and travelling.

Pat Rasmussen has been creating art with fiber for years, but has recently concentrated on needle felting 3-D figures. Pat's art has been exhibited in galleries and shows in Wisconsin and New Mexico and has been purchased by collectors from Washington to Florida. As a former classroom teacher, she knows the importance of being a lifelong learner and loves to experiment with different methods and materials.
