Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Set of basic clay-working tools (available at pottery supply companies or the Folk School Craft Shop). Please label personal tools with your name or initials. The Clay Studio is equipped with lots of donated tools & student tool kits are available to use for the week. - 2-3 work towels - Work apron, if desired, or clothes you can get dirty - Dust mask for mixing glazes - Packing material to transport your pieces home

School Fee & Materials: FOLK SCHOOL FEE: $13 (for bisque and glaze firings) Clay- Several Highwater clays are kept in stock, but specific clay bodies can be ordered with enough lead time and high enough enrollment - Studio glazes

Bryce Paul was born in Lebanon, Indiana. He furthered his education by attending Berea College in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky where he studied under Tina Gebheart, Karin Solberg, and Sara Gross. He greatly improved his skills in wheel thrown techniques, and the nature of construction not only during classes, but as a production potter for a family owned ceramic studio. His senior thesis focused on functionalism in a larger scale through throwing and assembling, as well as hand building ceramic furniture weighing up to 300 pounds. He was formally teaching as the Art Resident at Beech Grove Clay Works. Bryce started his professional career with a ceramic supply store, The Brickyard Ceramics & Crafts, as the Head of Indiana Ceramic Educational Outreach. Bryce is currently working at AMACO as an Account Manager and Sales Solutions Supervisor. He hopes to continue education and continue to bring passion to ceramics.
