Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Closed toe shoes for the studio - An apron or old clothes you don’t mind wearing in a working studio. - An ultra fine tip black Sharpie marker - Any cabochon stones you may want to set - A pen and notebook for note taking - 1 or 2 terrycloth old hand towels - A magnifier (such as an OptiVISOR) or reading glasses may be helpful for detail work. - It is recommended to use a particle dust mask (3M #8233 or rated equivalent) when using a polisher and grinder in the Jewelry studio. The mask can be purchased from Rio Grande, item #201-654 (1-800-545-6566 or www.riogrande.com). You may also find them at your local hardware store. INSTRUCTOR'S ESTIMATED MATERIALS FEE: $75 for sterling silver for projects, along with drill bits. (May vary based on price of metals at class time.)

Meredith Middleton is a jewelry artist from Chattanooga, TN. Her passion for creating art jewelry began after taking a weeklong course in sterling silver fabrication. Since then, Meredith has pursued her passion for jewelry design by attending New Approach School for Jewelers, Penland School of Crafts, and the Folk School. She has been assisting and teaching jewelry classes at the Folk School since 2013. She also teaches at North House Folk School in Grand Marais, MN. Her pieces can be found online and in several shops and galleries in Tennessee and North Carolina.
