Student Materials: Please bring the following: -Dust mask, eye protection, and ear protection -Long pants and closed-toe shoes to be worn in the shop -Sketch Pad

School Fee & Materials: FOLK SCHOOL FEE: $150-$200 - A selection of domestic woods, (cherry, maple, ash, walnut) whatever is the best quality from your wood source. Each student will need – 6 board feet of 8/4” wood and 15 board feet of 5/4” wood (can use 4/4 if that is all you can get). - 1 sheet of ¾” MDF to make jigs & templates. - hardware Folk School fee $150-$200

Receive demonstrations and lectures on tools needed to dimension and shape rough lumber. Focus on floating mortis and tenons joinery. Also, explore the endless possibilities of using routers to get unique edge treatments. Finishes explored include milk paint and woodburning. $

Wyatt Severs is a studio artist located in Western Kentucky. He has taught at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Peters Valley School of Craft, Penland School of Craft, Appalachian Center for Craft, and the Paducah School of Art & Design. His work has been exhibited at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, the Evansville Museum of Arts and at Indiana University. Wyatt's work has been featured on Kentucky Educational Television and Highland Woodworker's Working with a Master, and published in 500 Cabinets, Woodworking Magazine, Making Good and Maker Moxie.
