Student Materials: Please bring the following: - DSLR or mirrorless camera w/ lens & battery - Camera owner's manual - Additional lens (a zoom lens will work well) - Memory card for camera (preferably 2 cards) - Camera battery charger - Tripod - External hard drive or large capacity thumb drive to store photos taken during the week. - Comfortable clothing, shoes, hat, and outdoor gear to suit the season (including rain gear). Also bring anything else you need for field trips (medicine, sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottle, etc.) The Folk School has a computer lab equipped with modern Mac computers for students to use. If you plan to use one of these computers, you must bring a jump/flash drive to save your work.
School Fee & Materials: ***The Folk School has a USFS Special-use Permit. Please contact the Programs Department to obtain a copy for use during your session.*** - Folk School vehicle for field trips on 1 day. - 8 1/2 x 11 Epson (or similar) to Inkjet photo paper - 4 x 6 Epson (or similar) to Inkjet photo paper RA: Fully stocked Injet printer (the printer does not let instructor know when ink is low, so its important that the class has a full supply of back-up ink cartridges.)
Instructor Materials: - An energetic & fun experience - Props for photographic exercises - Handheld reflector for demonstration - Miscellaneous photographic gear to familiarize students w/ some of the many additional options used in creating unique images
Equipment Needs: Harvest Room Photography studio includes: 5 rather new Macintosh computers with current Photoshop (1 for instructor & 4 for students to share), card readers, Epson photo printer, Vizio wall-mounted monitor with Apple TV & DVD (and still have digital projector & screen), dry-erase board, and CD player. A user manual will be provided upon arrival for the digital display, and feel free to talk with RA and/or Nick (IT).

Georgia Zumwalt is an active PPA (Professional Photographers of America) Certified Professional Photographer who holds the PPA Master of Photography degree and serves on the International Photographic Competition Committee for the organization. She is also an award winning American Society of Photographers (ASP ) Elite member . She began her photography career in the late 1980s. On one of her first professional jobs as a photographer was for the California Optometric Association, she was asked to photograph Folsom Prison (yep, from the Johnny Cash song) for a story about the prisoners’ role in eyeglass production. Over the years Georgia's work has been used by the National Audubon Society, Estée Lauder, Kubota, FleishmanHillard, and other organizations.
