Studio/Location: Wet Room
Student Materials: Please bring the following: NOTE: Please bring your supplies to class Sunday evening. -Tags for labeling yarn -Notebook or cards for recording dye specs -Permanent marker (black Sharpie) -3 or 4 Glad (or other brand) disposable plastic bowls with lids, 6-cup capacity. Must be microwave safe (type 5 or 6 plastic) -Respirator-style dust mask or KN95/N95 mask. -Rubber kitchen gloves -Wear clothing that you won’t mind getting stained (either dark so it won’t show, or old so it won’t matter). An apron is also helpful. (Optional) -Knitting needles sized appropriately for sport or worsted weight yarn in case you want to work swatches. -Plastic tote with lid for your knitting supplies, yarn, notes, and other items you want to keep clean and dry during dyeing. -Small jars for storing leftover dye (if you have them on hand).

Margaret Radcliffe learned to knit as a child and has been designing handknits all her adult life. She is the author of The Knitting Answer Book, The Essential Guide to Color Knitting Techniques, Circular Knitting Workshop, and The Knowledgeable Knitter. Since 1991, Margaret has taught everything from beginning knitting to garment design, with an emphasis on helping all knitters to become independent and creative. Her current fiber interest is preparing, spinning, and designing with rare heritage breed wools. Margaret holds a BA in medieval studies and an MA in English literature, and has been an information systems auditor, computer programmer, business executive, research administrator, dancer, and editor.
