Weaving–The Next Step

Reading a draft is only the beginning. Advance your understanding and abilities using your draft as a design tool. Learn about weaving software and terminology and experience the excitement of creating your own designs on four or more shafts. Whatever your current level, this class will move you forward. Emphasis will be on weaving samples, rather than producing a finished product. Intermediate students welcome; must be able to warp a loom independently prior to class.

Dianne Totten, weaver for forty years and teacher for twenty-five, considered sewing her favorite activity until discovering her true passion of weaving. Handwoven clothing has been Dianne's main focus, with her current emphasis on garments using "crimp cloth," a technique she developed and teaches for guilds and conferences, nationally and internationally. Dianne's award-winning work has been published in the magazines, "Shuttle, Spindle, & Dyepot," "Handwoven," "Weavers," "Complex Weavers," and the Swedish "Vavmagasinet;" and in the revised book by Catherine Ellis, "Woven Shibori."
