Become a fashion designer as you create your own nuno dress or coat from concept to clothing. Learn resist pattern making for any size and pick up garment construction and layout tricks. With wool, soapy water and agitation, simultaneously create a completely new fabric and a wearable garment. We wrap up the class with finishing tips and troubleshooting tricks. Some previous felt making experience helpful, but not required. $

Patti Barker is an award-winning fiber artist living in Florida. Her early fascination with fabrics and fashion came from her seamstress mother. Patti’s main focus has been creating wearable art, with the use of silk, wool, soapy water and agitation. In addition to nuno felt, she uses hand-dying, needle felting, and bead embroidery to complement the tactile and visual narratives of each piece of wearable art. Patti holds a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Western Washington University, where she began thinking about skins. Her study included simulated animal skins, human skin under a microscope, skins of mythical beings and hybrid humans. www.pattibarker.com
