Beginning Weaving–Basics & Beyond

Begin the week by threading your first warp for sampling, then experience the entire weaving process from start to finish. Prepare a floor loom, learn the basics of weave structures, and weave your very own cloth! With your newly acquired knowledge and samples to guide you, go on to plan and weave a project of your choice. This class is great for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills.

Dianne Totten, weaver for forty years and teacher for twenty-five, considered sewing her favorite activity until discovering her true passion of weaving. Handwoven clothing has been Dianne's main focus, with her current emphasis on garments using "crimp cloth," a technique she developed and teaches for guilds and conferences, nationally and internationally. Dianne's award-winning work has been published in the magazines, "Shuttle, Spindle, & Dyepot," "Handwoven," "Weavers," "Complex Weavers," and the Swedish "Vavmagasinet;" and in the revised book by Catherine Ellis, "Woven Shibori."
