Learn to make a sack back Windsor rocking chair with a crest. Focus on hand tool construction and expect limited machine use. This is an intermediate to advanced level class; students should have previously made at least one Windsor chair. Evening work-time in the studio will be required to complete this chair. $

Brian Cunfer worked in construction for 30 years before retiring and pursuing his love of Windsor chairmaking in Lancaster County, PA. He studied chairmaking under Dana Hatheway at the Folk School, and with Curtis Buchanan in Jonesborough, TN. Brian has since taught many chair making classes here and in his home studio for the past 20 years. As a Master Artisan of The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, he teaches woodworking and woodturning in the Guild's studio.

Tim Bevacqua has supervised commercial and residential construction projects for 17 years in the Raleigh/Durham area after retiring early from Duke Energy. He holds a Masters in education from NC State University and has served as an instructor at the NCSU Crafts Center for 40 years. Tim's need to repair a treasured antique Windsor chair in 2003 led him to John C. Campbell’s Windsor Chair class. He has returned to the Folk School many times to participate and help facilitate classes. This quintessential American chair is now his favorite woodworking project.
