Writing True Stories–You Can’t Make This Stuff Up

Practice writing different forms of creative nonfiction, from flash nonfiction to personal essays or chapters for memoirs in progress. In-class writing exercises will sharpen skills in pacing, clarity, dialogue, world-building, and tone, and help you write in a way that holds a reader’s interest to the very end. We’ll talk about the challenges of writing about real people and the joys and pitfalls of fictionalizing true stories.
