Student Materials: Please bring the following: - SANDED Pastel Paper (Art Spectrum, Sennellier La Carte, Pastel Board, Uart are a few brands to choose from). I like the Sennelier 12x16 pad. SANDED PAPER IS A MUST! Please do not buy regular pastel paper. - Compressed charcoal for initial drawing - Drawing board or sheet of foam core larger than the paper. Clips to hold paper. Tape. - Soft Pastels (Sennelier, Unison, Schmincke, Rembrandt are all good choices) Rembrandt is less expensive but a harder pastel than the others. * Pastel supplies can be a bit pricy, but they will last a long time. * Supplies can be ordered online through Dick Blick, Jerrys Artarama, or Dakota Pastels. * Easels will be provided with an option of standing or sitting at a table.

School Fee & Materials: The studio can provide: - painting boards - easels (French plein air, medium, rolling, table-top, metal plein air) - aprons - spray bottles - water containers

Ann Dodys is an artist/art educator who was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. After earning a BFA degree from Stratford College in Danville, VA, Ann began her art career in Jacksonville, FL creating interior and exterior wall designs for both commercial and residential spaces. Ann taught visual art in grades K-12 for 30 years and earned a Masters in Art Education while teaching and producing unique and appealing works of art. Ann has worked with a variety of media over the years but fell in love with pastels after participating in a workshop outside of Paris, France. Ann has achieved Member of Excellence status with the Southeastern Pastel Society.
