Teri Jones has been a professional artist since 1998 and has won numerous local and regional awards for her paintings. She is represented by galleries throughout the U.S. and the Virgin Islands. She opened her own River's Rim Studio and Gallery in Brasstown, NC after relocating to the mountains in 2012. In this working studio, she paints and sells her watercolors, oils, and alcohol inks, and teaches beginning and intermediate art classes. Teri developed her unique teaching style after noticing how students struggled to remember each step of a painting. Breaking a painting down into simple segments helps beginning students learn by watching, and then doing the same process themselves.

Korinne Carpino ventured into the world of art in her early 40s, initially teaching herself acrylic painting through books and DVDs. Fourteen years ago, she discovered alcohol inks and fell in love with their organic movement, which greatly influences her abstract to representational style. She studied under master ink artists and then found her own voice. She later delved into mixed media, making her own collage papers on a gel plate and has enjoyed creating textured collages ever since. Five years ago, she retired from her 35 year career in healthcare human resources (lots of creating new things and problem solving) to become a full time artist. Her art is inspired by the vibrant colors of nature, particularly the flowers in her garden and her memories of her Mom’s. Her alcohol ink creative process often begins with an ink-poured background, from which she intuitively creates unique compositions.
