Gail Clement has practiced hand stitching since childhood and continues to travel widely to study with textile artists from around the world. In her current work, Gail crafts hand made fiber art for the home and heart from her studio in Asheville, NC. Her felted, sewn, appliquéd, and embroidered pieces are available at the Local Cloth Fiber Arts Gallery in Asheville’s River Arts District. Gail teaches Sashiko and Boro-inspired patching at Local Cloth and leads there Sashiko and Boro Interest Group. She is also regularly invited to teach at local libraries, UNC Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Fiberfest. Passionate about textile reuse, Gail also offers cloth mending and darning to the community through the Western North Carolina Repair Cafe.
