Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Notebook and pencil/pen - The studio has all the basic tools and supplies necessary. If you prefer to bring your own, you'll need the following (please label with your name or initials): - Scissors - Tape measure - Threading hook & sley hook - Boat shuttles & bobbins - Large-eye tapestry needle - Your own inkle and/or rigid heddle loom, if you already have one.
Instructor Materials: Instructor will provide handouts, warp and weft, and materials to add to student projects.
Equipment Needs: 1 each inkle, rigid heddle, 4 harness loom per student Toolkits

Description

Weave a project on each of the three most popular hand looms today–inkle, rigid heddle, and four shaft loom–while learning how to operate them. Weaving terminology, planning projects, and setting up the looms will be covered. Expect to make at least one bookmark on the inkle loom, two cotton dish cloths on the rigid heddle, and four to six rag-rug style mug mats on the four shaft loom. All levels welcome.

Leslie Fesperman shares her passion for weaving with others through teaching. She is the founder and director of The Yadkin Valley Fiber Center, teaching there, at JCCFS, and in other venues. She earned her Master Weaving Certification through Olds College and is a member of Complex Weavers, Handweavers Guild of America, Tapestry Weavers South, and The Triangle Weavers Guild.
