Student Materials: Please bring the following: -Drawings/sketches/ideas/reference images - one simpler (primarily line, hatching/cross hatching), one more complex (with shading/tone). We have a lot of process to get through, it’s best to come with ideas. -Sketchbook/notebook, pencil and pen - try to bring what you have, no need to buy, sketching on printer paper is just fine. -2 Copper plates- 0.05” thickness, max size 5 x 7 inches- this thickness is the most commonly available, and it’s important we’re all using the same thickness. Do not get zinc. Sources- Takach, Dick Blick, Amazon (K&S brand). Cutting plates at the Folk School is possible if you want a square. -2-4 sheets of printmaking paper - 22 x 30 inches (standard printmaking paper size) best not to roll paper- BFK Rives, Stonehenge (most economical, nice tones), Hahnemule. No watercolor paper. Get 2-3 white, and 1-2 toned, choose warm/cream or cool/grey depending on your idea. I will have some available to buy/trade. If you are flying and want to buy all your paper from me, let me know. -Cardboard portfolio - to bring home prints, homemade is fine, max paper size for prints is 11 x 15 inches, make your portfolio a little bigger. You can also bring cardboard and make portfolio in class.

Hannah Adair is a printmaker and interdisciplinary artist living and working in Atlanta, GA. She received her BFA in drawing, painting, and printmaking from Georgia State University in 2015, and her MFA in printmaking from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta in 2019. Her printmaking specialty is etching, though she loves to experiment and learn new processes. She is an instructor at Atlanta Printmakers Studio, and has exhibited at Swan Coach House Gallery, Poem 88, Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking CT, Hi-Lo Press, Kai Lin, and Whitespace.
