Student Materials: Please bring the following: -Spinning wheel & bobbins -Lazy kate -Niddy noddy -Wool cards -Wool combs -Knitting needles or crochet hooks for sampling -Tags for finished skeins -Fiber will be provided, but you may also bring any special fleece or other fiber that you want to try. -Please bring equipment if you have it; it's good to learn with your own tools. ADD: If you do not have or cannot travel with some equipment, you may borrow it during class. The studio is well equipped with wheels, hand cards, and other tools needed. Cover a variety of drafting and fiber preparation techniques to fine-tune your yarns, work with multiple fibers, design yarns for different uses, and spin a few novelties. Best suited for those who can spin a continuous yarn.

Angela Schneider is a weaver, spinner, knitter, and enthusiast for all textile structures from the common to the esoteric. Her work frequently explores words and formulas as design sources. She teaches math, computer science, color theory, and dance, in addition to multiple fiber arts, and is a patient and encouraging instructor. She regularly teaches in Memphis, Tennessee; at regional fiber festivals; and at the Folk School since 2011. Angela holds an MFA from Memphis College of Art and a Master Spinner Certificate from Olds College, Alberta.
