Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Closed-toe shoes (no sandals in class) - Safety glasses - A particle dust mask (advised when using the polisher and grinder) - Notepad and pencil - Fine-point, black Sharpie marker - Calculator - Hot glue gun & hot glue sticks (if you have and can bring) - X-acto knife & blades (if your travel method allows) - Old towel or rags - Any sentimental objects you may wish to place in scope cell -- optional (shells, wire, beads, jewelry, etc.) - Any 8.5 x 12 decorated paper or photos you may want to use Instructor will provide materials and supplies needed for the class at the cost below. The Folk School has all the basic tools needed. Estimated Materials Fee: There will be a $25 fee to cover basic supplies: copper foil, solder, clear glass, scrap dichroic, flux, glycerin, glue, tape, and other sundry items. In addition, expect to spend $85-$275 for additional glass, mirrors, optical lenses, brass rods and tubes, depending on the number and type of projects you make.
