Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Work/art clothes & shoes that can get wet and messy - A notebook and pen for taking notes OPTIONAL: You may bring materials to be marbled, but please communicate with the instructor prior to class to determine suitability. We will NOT be marbling 3-D or synthetic items.
School Fee & Materials: Paper towels cloth towels for floor paper or plastic to cover tables
Instructor Materials: carrageenan size alum as mordant acrylic paints distilled water paper of several types and sizes silk scarves cotton squares leather tanks of varying sizes rakes & combs all other supplies for marbling materials & supplies for end-of-week projects
Equipment Needs: -Trays, vats, access to porch/outside space, rakes and combs. Blenders, and make new Marbling Kits available for use with instructions about preventing contamination with soaps or other than acrylic paints.  -Paper towels, cloth towels, clothes pins, plastic covering for tables white boards for transferring wet papers etc. to the front porch for rinsing, hanging and drying.

A number of complex and modern patterns are intentionally created by two or more layers of marbling–Swoon, Party, Bullseye, Vertigo, and Peek-a-boo–as well as layered traditional patterns.
