Joomchi–a Korean method–“felts” layers of hanji by hand into richly textured, remarkably strong paper without adhesives. Momigami–a Japanese process–kneads kozo paper with konnyaku starch to create supple, fabric-like sheets with added durability.

In this two-for-one class, experience sheet forming handmade papers and utilizing repurposed papers to then embellish with colored pulp elements. While the paper is drying, begin designing and making a drypoint printing plate. Then, explore printing applications with your plate images onto your handmade papers.
