Student Materials: Please bring the following: - Apron - Safety goggles - Face mask (optional) - Rubber dishwashing gloves - Stick blender, if you own one - Plastic spoon - Rubber spatula - 2 Glass or sturdy plastic measuring cups (Pyrex) -- one 2- to 4-cup, one 4- to 8-cup or larger - Measuring spoons - 2 baby-food jars, or other 2 oz glass or plastic containers for salves - 8-12 empty 1-quart waxed-cardboard containers to use as soap molds. (Paper containers, not plastic -- the kind used for half & half, milk alternatives, soup broth/stock, etc.) - Saran Wrap - Crate, bowl, basket, basket filler, ribbon...items to decorate your gift basket or box. - If you would like to purchase oils, lye, and other soap making and salve supplies for continuing projects at home, please bring appropriate containers to fill. (Optional): If students have certain essential oils or fragrance oils they want to use in soap, bring them. Same with special colors, herbs, etc.. If you are flying or having a problem finding items, please notify the instructor so that she can bring extras. The school has stick blenders, measuring spoons, plastic measuring cups, spatulas, spoons, aprons, safety goggles, rubber gloves for shared use. - Materials fees are for lye; bottles, jars, and tubes; and oils, herbs, colorants, essential oils, and fragrances used in class. This is payable to the instructor at the end of the week.

Equipment Needs: Equipment Needs - Planned for the studio in Keith Lower, with kitchen (max 8). - Tables & chairs for students and instructor - Cooktops for heating oil - Kitchen thermometers - Stick blenders - Scales (digital) - ACCURATE ones that weigh in grams, ounces, and pounds. -Food dehydrator -1-2 quart saucepans for melting oils -Measuring spoons - Paper towels - Soap drying racks, OR paper grocery bags, OR cardboard trays from soda, bottled water, etc. PROGRAM OPS: Let Housekeeping know in advance about Soap class Make sure there are enough floor mats for each student Also, ask for trash pickup midweek.

Student Materials: Please bring the following: - safety glasses, goggles, or face shield -protective mask (in addition to the goggles) - apron (to protect clothes from lye and oil) - rubber gloves (should reach past ends of shirtsleeves and allow for good dexterity) - long-sleeve shirts, long pants, socks, and close-toed shoes (choose clothes you can get oil on) - extra silicone molds, pringles cans, or clean soup/milk cartons ESTIMATED ADDITIONAL MATERIALS FEE: $75-$180 for 10-20 pounds of soap. Students may pay more or less depending on how much they make, priced at $8 per pound.
School Fee & Materials: - Dish soap - Sponges - Paper towels - Masking tape - Wax Paper
Instructor Materials: Base ingredients for all soaps - Essential oils and natural additives (herbs, spices, oats, dried flowers, etc.) - soap molds
Equipment Needs: Lower Keith - Stainless steel bowls (preferably a large, medium, and small for each student) - Working immersion blender for each student - Digital scales (large enough to hold pot or bowl with display still visible) - Spatulas/rubber scrapers - Safety glasses/goggles - Face masks (for use while mixing lye) - Measuring spoons and cups - More infrared thermometers than last time - Working hotplates/stovetop - Funnel pitchers for pouring soap - White board & markers - Permanent markers - Scissors - Extra rubber gloves, aprons - Tea kettle - Large pieces of cardboard for curing - 2-3 long extension cords - Extra soap molds - Soap cutters - Mid week garbage pickup is super helpful for soap making classes
